The Wildwood Team

Anneliese Brown

Aani serves the Foundation as a Program Coordinator, managing the Foundation’s event planning and social media communications.

Aani was raised just outside of Elko and developed a love for the Reno-Tahoe area and its open spaces, with a particular focus on keeping these lands accessible and clean. While maintaining an active business, personal, and volunteer life, and her husband, Nick, have a healthy family of furry children that do an excellent job of keeping them active and outdoors!

Matthew Rosenfeld

Field Program Instructor

Matthew (Bear) serves as the first Field Program Instructor. He is certified as a Leave No Trace Trainer and Tread Lightly! Tread Trainer. He has experience, not only leading programming with WOLF, but with SWEP and Project Discovery. Sometimes he has other roles such as camp director, co-pilot, chef-in-training, or Chief Enthusiasm Officer. Bear has a deep admiration for being in the outdoors and exploration.

Matthew has discovered an affinity to being a world traveler, but he is most comfortable at home in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada where he hones his skills as a skier, mountain-biker, rock climber, and all talents aquatic.

Amy Laverdiere

Program Coordinator

Amy serves the Foundation as a Program Coordinator. She is pursuing Leave No Trace trainer certification as a member of the WOLF Field team and a NV Site Stewardship credential as a component of leadership in our Conservancy programs.

Amy grew up surrounded by the mountains and lakes of western Maine, where she developed a love of snowboarding and the outdoors. She received her undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from MIT and her MBA from Duke University. Amy has had a fulfilling career in small and large biotechnology and medical device companies.

Amy currently lives in South Lake Tahoe with her dog. She is an avid snowboarder and enjoys exploring remote routes throughout the western states.

Kurstin Graham

Board Advisor & Field Program Instructor

Kurstin serves the Foundation as a Board Advisor and Interpretive Guide as part of the WOLF Field Team.

The son of two schoolteachers working abroad, Kurstin spent his first 15 years overseas in Japan, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Brazil. Adventure travel runs deep in the family.

He offers up his experience in the Nevada backcountry, along with a depth of knowledge surrounding the natural sciences and human history, as part of his guided routes with WOLF or Bikepacking Northern Nevada.

“We need wild encounters; looking in the eye of an antelope running past, finding bees huddled in a blossom for warmth, or watching trout streak away in a wild stream.”

Now home is Reno, within the bicycle and outdoor community, systematically documenting Northern Nevada’s backcountry bike routes and scenery. Kurstin’s adventures are documented at Bikepacking Northern Nevada.

Sue Drake

Board Advisor & Field Program Instructor

Sue Drake is a Foundation Board Advisor and wildlife biologist with the Wildwood Foundation Field Team.

Originally from New York, she has lived and traveled primarily in places where she can be close to Nature. She is currently living with her husband in the Lake Tahoe, CA area, facilitating the growth of a resilient community and restoring upland watersheds through her work with various non-profit organizations.

In her home environment, you can often find her skiing, hiking, camping, reading National Geographic, observing wildlife (including humans), and sharing laughs with friends and family.

Tim Garcia-Jay

Program Coordinator

Tim Garcia-Jay serves as a Program Coordinator with our partnership with Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful and our stewardship programming.

In his own words: As a native Nevadan, I have always felt a deep connection to the outdoors and exploring our great state. There is so much that Nevada has to offer to those wanting to explore mountains, rivers, lakes, and the desert. The diversity keeps me longing for more and more exploration trips across our state.

When Jeff approached me about the Wildwood Open Lands Foundation, I jumped at the opportunity to join an organization that encompasses all that I am passionate about: advocacy, conservation, and education of our precious resources. I am dedicated to being an advocate for open lands in my home state while expanding my experiences throughout the western United States.
