Appropriate trail vehicle for Lassen Applegate Emigrant Trail NCA
While the Tour is available to everyone, it is critical to note that this is an extended off-road experience into remote terrain. The correct selection of a vehicle will enable safe travel and contribute to the enjoyment of the trip for yourself and the entire caravan. Additionally, correct vehicle selection will minimize adverse impact to the trail and NCA.
A trail-appropriate vehicle for the Lassen-Applegate Emigrant Trail will have the attributes listed below:
- Minimum wheelbase 80 inches (Suzuki Samurai)
- Maximum wheelbase 140 inches (Jeep Gladiator/Ford Excursion)
- Maximum width 75 Inches (Toyota Tacoma)
- Maximum height 108 inches (Mercedes Sprinter SWB High Roof)
- Minimum ground clearance 8.7 inches (Subaru Crosstrek) 4-wheel drive/All-wheel drive
